Located in South Zealand near the town of Herlufmagle and Glumsø, the property is only an hour from Copenhagen and actually right between Ringsted and Næstved. The impressively large beech tree standing in the middle of the garden must be around 200 years old. If you measure the circumference of the trunk it is 4 meters, which suggests somewhere between 150-250 years of age. You can see the tree, still large, in old photos from the 1950s. We are certain that when the garden was planted and the trees surrounding it were chosen, real thought was given to diversity for the benefit of animals and insects. Today, with the trees more than 30 years old, tall and full, we are grateful for this very fine approach to nature, because now we have cosy nooks, hiding places and flowers from early spring to late autumn – and you can decide for yourself whether the garden should be kept neatly trimmed or whether you want to let it run deliberately wild. We have chosen to run the farm itself organically because it makes sense to preserve the entire food chain from insects to mammals. Much of the land is in grass and clover. There will be the possibility of cultivating more of the land than we do today.

Now your dream of country life can become a reality, as we are looking for the right people who can carry on the creativity that the property offers. For example: organic farming, animal husbandry, running a business, a farm shop, an artist's atelier, exploring nature – or whatever you dream of. We are looking for a buyer – a family – for our organic farm, located in Herlufmagle at the northern end of Næstved in South Zealand. The property contains a well-maintained farmhouse with 4 bedrooms, a living room, a large open-plan kitchen, an extra production kitchen, 2 toilets and a bathroom. A farm shop with loft space and a room currently used as an atelier. Between the farmhouse and the farm shop is a large garage. A double chicken house with an aviary and a large shed for the tractor and equipment. A carport with a tool shed. The ground source heating, installed in 2020, provides heat to both the farmhouse and farm shop. The wood-burning stove also adds warmth and cosines to the living room. The private shared road is home to playing children, horses and wild animals such as deer and hares. The organic farm is self-sufficient in terms of equipment and is ready to supply Næstved and the surrounding area with organic eggs, fruit, berries and vegetables. There are two enclosures of approximately 6,000 m2 – one containing fruit trees and the other providing space for growing vegetables and fruit bushes. The approximately 5,000 m2 surrounding the house, with tall old trees, provides shelter and a very private garden with many pleasant seating areas where the sun can be enjoyed at different times of the day. The garden invites a 'wild by design' approach where perennials and shrubs make it easy to simply mow the grass. The many varied trees and shrubs bring life for all kinds of birds, amphibians and insects. The garden flowers from early spring to late autumn. In the old part of the garden there are 4 different apple varieties, plum, Mirabelle plum, redcurrant, blackcurrant, gooseberry, strawberry, blackberry, rhubarb, a fig tree and a 5 m2 greenhouse with 2 grapevines. The old garden provides living and breeding habitats for many types of birds, and it is wonderful to see and experience the birds up close. There are plenty of hiding places for hedgehogs, which both live and breed in the old garden. With a brash hedge and wood chipper, we use all garden waste to mulch the fruit trees and for soil renewal. Branch clippings go to the brash hedge, grass clippings go to the chickens, and dead trees go in the wood-burning stove.
